Podcast #6
In this occasion COALA meets FORESEE
Guest of this Episode is Paolo Perillo, Products Director at Holonix, as moderator.
Artificial Intelligence and Manufacturing
The COALA Ambassador Podcast series is an initiative aimed at sharing our COALA EU project progress and findings with AI and Manufacturing Communities who want to know more more about Digital Voice Assistants for the industry and its developments in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Manufacturing
Coala
COALA – COgnitive Assisted agile manufacturing for a LAbor force supported by trustworthy Artificial Intelligence – is an EU Horizon 2020 funded project, which aims to develop a trustworthy voice-enabled Digital Intelligent Assistant for the manufacturing industry.
COALA will provide a solution for cognitive assistance that consists of a composition of trustworthy AI components with a voice-enabled digital intelligent assistant as an interface. The solution will support workers that need to use analytics tools and new workers that perform on-the-job training. Complementary to the technology, an education and training concept that focuses on building blue-collar worker competencies in human-AI collaboration will be developed. The COALA solution will transform how workers perform their jobs and it allows companies to maintain or increase the quality of their production processes and their products.
COALA collaborates in the AI-MAN Cluster with other eight projects that are funded under the EU H2020 ICT-38 call – Artificial intelligence for manufacturing, aiming to develop trustworthy human-centred AI in manufacturing.
The podcast, hosted by Paolo Perillo of Holonix Srl, talks about re-manufacturing and refurbishment with the aim of extending the lifecycle of manufacturing equipment, thanks to a Digital Intelligent Assistant.
Foresee
FORESEE is a cluster of 6 EU project about novel design and predictive maintenance technologies for increased operating life of production systems. Foresee aims at developing sustainable predictive maintenance solutions for the factory of the future.
The progressive and pervasive digitisation of industry brings a paramount opportunity to enhance the productivity of manufacturing and assembly operations. In this context, state-of-the-art production systems implement Predictive Maintenance (PdM) solutions to complement preventive maintenance scheduling and avoid costly unexpected breakdowns and corrective maintenance actions.
Many successful European industries are implementing such kind of solutions to increase reliability and uptime of manufacturing equipment while reducing the associated mean time to repair. ForeSee, together with its six innovative R&D projects (PROPHESY, PROGRAMS, Z-BRE4K, PRECOM, SERENA, UPTIME) on PdM solutions is offering a series of three webinars on sustainable PdM solutions organised by CRIT.
The ForeSee webinars will present relevant use-cases developed within the six R&D projects and the related technologies deployed from the shopfloor to cloud infrastructure. Each meeting will be opened by a keynote speech on relevant technologies and trends in the manufacturing field and at the end participants will have the opportunity to join an open discussion with project partners.
The speakers: Jacopo Cassina, Karl A. Hribernik, Kosmas Alexopoulos
